Therapy Services

Trauma

Therapy services are provided for individuals that have experienced varying types of trauma and experience a range of symptoms. Individuals respond to a range of therapeutic modalities based on their history, complexity of trauma, culture, and resilience and protective factors. A trauma informed care approach is imperative when providing behavioral health services. Other treatment modalities include: eye movement desensitization and reprocessing (EMDR), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) and interventions, mindfulness, and Prolonged Exposure Therapy. Services are provided to victims of crime and other trauma survivors such as: domestic violence, first responders, veterans, refugees, immigrants, human trafficking victims, and child abuse victims, amongst others.

Addiction

Addiction impacts various areas of an individual’s life including their loved ones and family members. Treatment services for a variety of addictions are provided including: substance use disorders, love addiction, gambling disorder, codependency, gaming, amongst others. Addiction often results in a sense of hopelessness, despair, shame, guilt, multiple consequences, and a loss of control over various areas of one’s life. Treatment modalities used include: CBT, DBT interventions, mindfulness, EMDR, and incorporation of 12 step philosophies. Family and couples therapy may be indicated at later stages of treatment.



Acculturation and Adjustment Services for Immigrants, and Refugees

Immigrants and refugees often go through a process of acculturation and adjustment to their new host country. This could impact individual members as well as the family unit. Adjustment to new cultural norms and the dominant and majority group means navigating the delicate balance of maintaining their cultural identity and accepting the host country identity. Other issues facing immigrants and refugees include: grief and loss issues with separation from family and friends that are in their country of origin, navigating potential career changes and loss of status, building a support system in their new community, navigating new systems and coping with barriers and change, and coping with traumatic experiences in the host country and country of origin. Services are provided to individuals, couples, and families using various modalities including: systems therapy, narrative therapy, and family therapy.

Employee Assistance Program (EAP) Services

Individuals, their dependents, and family members could receive EAP services through their employer. Services are cost free for employees and their dependents, and focus on short term problem resolutions on issues such as: work stress, partner relational problems, and parent child relationship problems. Individuals are also linked to other resources and referrals as indicated to assist them in improving work productivity, functioning and well being. Services also include benefits for employers including: management consultations, mandatory supervisory referrals, critical incident stress management services, threat assessment, fitness for duty evaluations, substance abuse professional (SAP) evaluations, psychoeducational services and training, amongst other services.


Mood Disorders and Anxiety

Therapeutic services are provided for individuals that experience symptoms of depression, anxiety, and bipolar symptoms. Various treatment modalities are provided dependent on the need of each individual client including: CBT, DBT, mindfulness, solution focused therapy, systems therapy, and couples therapy. Cultural considerations are always taken into consideration when providing treatment that would be beneficial to clients.
